The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the NYC Test + Trace Corps (T2) determined that two or more members of our school community have tested positive for COVID-19 within seven days of each other. As a result, the school building will close for an initial 24 hours to investigate the source(s) of transmission.

Below you will find information on next steps to protect the health of you, your child, and the school community. This guidance reflects the expertise of DOHMH, T2, and the New York City Department of Education (DOE).

Students in Grades 3K through Grade 5 will return to in-person learning beginning on Monday, December 7.

Dear Families,
I hope you have had a restful break, and an opportunity to enjoy time with family. As you are aware, on November 18, we temporarily closed school buildings for teaching and learning, and all New York City public school students transitioned to fully remote learning.
Today, I am pleased to write to you with our plan to reopen school buildings for in-person instruction for many of our students. As always, health and safety remain our highest priorities, and this letter also contains information regarding mandatory weekly in school testing for COVID-19 in all reopened buildings, and how you can submit the required consent forms.
The guidance below applies to students in blended learning, who have already chosen to learn in the school building part of the week, and from home the rest of the week. Students who chose fully remote learning prior to building closures will continue to learn remotely full time.

You are receiving this letter because you are a staff member in our school who has stayed home for a COVID-19 related reason, or the parent of a student in our school who has stayed home for a COVID-19 related reason.

Extension of Immunization Compliance for Remote-Only Students

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has further extended the grace period to obtain all required vaccinations for students who have opted for fully remote learning to December 11 (from November 11). Please note that for remote-only students, the December 11 deadline supersedes all previously published immunization compliance deadlines.

By December 11, students exclusively engaged in remote learning must submit proof to their school that they have obtained all required vaccinations, if they have not already done so. CS 200 will email warning letters to non-compliant remote-only families by November 25, and email exclusion letters, if necessary, on December 10.  Remote-only students who have not demonstrated immunization compliance by December 11 must be excluded.
